My name is Brok Liu. I am an incoming senior at Chandler High School in Chandler Arizona, and will be in the graduating class of 2021. My entire life I have had a strong passion for the game of baseball. The game has impacted my development as a person in so many ways. It has taught me the importance of humility, working hard, and staying positive. This has helped me to be a better player and teammate. Baseball is often described as a game of failure. This aspect of the game has helped to shape me as a person. Especially regarding my work ethic, It requires one to take nothing for granted, and continuously strive to stay motivated to improve. This work ethic has influenced other areas of my life. It has helped in my focus and drive for academic excellence. My days are typically structured around building up my body as well as my mind. Everyday I try to spend a portion of my day studying for the SAT’s. My goal is to score a 1400 or higher. I enjoy playing shortstop for my high school as well as two other competitive club-ball teams in the valley. The pandemic has been devastating in so many ways. From my standpoint, the only positive thing to come from it, is that it has required me to develop and tap into self motivation and structure with my time, staying productive and setting goals. This free time has allowed me to focus on strengthening my body to be ready for baseball at the collegiate level. Since March of 2020, I have gained 10-15 pounds of lean muscle. This added strength has helped me in all aspects of my game. Outside of baseball and training, I have many interests, including painting, drawing, and customizing shoes. I also love playing pickup basketball, fishing and golf with my friends.
